This lovely dog is SHELDON, who arrived at the Cayman Islands Humane Society in August 2018 as one of 32 dogs rescued by the Cayman Islands Department of Agriculture. Sheldon is a young dog, approximately one and a half years old. For the last six weeks, Sheldon has participated in the Good Dog Training Program and he passed with flying colours! The change the Cayman Islands Humane Society saw in him in only six weeks has been phenomenal. Sheldon has totally mastered Sit, Down and Stay commands. He has also learned how to walk nicely on a leash without pulling, but the biggest change was his interaction and total focus on his handler.
Training, routine and consistency are very important for any dog and the Cayman Islands Humane Society are grateful they have the opportunity to enrich the lives of some of their shelter dogs with this program. When you donate to the Humane Society funds can go to programs just like this. Sheldon also wants to say Thank You to Julie and Joseph of Love Your Dog for teaching him these new skills.
Sheldon is looking forward to being adopted and show off what he has learned. Whoever adopts Sheldon will have a dog that is dedicated, loyal and adoring of this humans. Sheldon is better suited to a home with older children who can have fun continuing his training and enjoy the rewards of a well trained dog you can take anywhere. Please come and meet Sheldon and tell him what a Good Dog he is!
As always, if you can't adopt or foster Sheldon, please share his story. It really helps!
