This week I was lucky enough to get to ask Cayman Islands Humane Society resident veterinarian to select his Pet of the Week! He immediately chose Elmo who is a two year old fully vaccinated male neutered dog. When Dr Andrew isn't at the CIHS he can found at Island Veterinary Services
Elmo has been at the shelter for about six months as is a favourite of Dr Andrew's because he is so friendly and always has a waggy tail.
Elmo has a short black coat which is easy to maintain and LOVES to go for walks, almost as much as he loves to give puppy kisses. It is hard for a dog as exuberant as Elmer to be in the shelter as he can become easily frustrated. Even if you can't adopt for foster Elmer the dog, you can come by the shelter and take him for a walk and in return, you will get the best puppy kisses.
When I visited the Cayman Islands Humane Society to find out who would be Pet of the Week, the shelter was actually closed because of staff shortages due to sickness. Do you have kids off school that need something to keep them busy? Are you on the island an have a few hours to spare each day? Or are you visiting our beautiful Cayman islands and would like to help our a local charity?
Please stop by the Cayman Islands Humane Society and see how you can help. They will welcome your visit. Volunteer opportunities range from dog walking, cleaning cat cages, answering the phone, taking pictures of animals, or working in the Cayman Islands Humane Society book loft.

As always, if you are reading this blog please take one second to share it on your social media pages. You never know who will see it and be able to provide a "furever" home to a dog, puppy, cat or kitten in need.
